We need help so we’re looking for an amazing web designer that knows the print world too.

The details:
Matchbox Design Group is seeking a Designer for a full-time position at our office in St. Louis, Missouri.  We’re looking for someone that is fun, creative, great at concepting, has exceptional communication skills, and is able to work well in a team environment.  The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of professional experience in the field and be ready to start immediately.  Web design expertise is a must as well as knowledge of print design and layout.

The position:
Designer, Web/Interactive & Print

Things we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in the creative industry
  • Experience designing for web, mobile, print, packaging and promotion
  • A sharp portfolio filled with a wide range of media
  • Strong understanding of typography, grids and layout, and attention to detail
  • Expert level Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign user
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and web technologies
  • Team-oriented and capable of directing developers and contractors
  • You can manage your own workload

Things you’ll do:

  • Meeting with clients and account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the project
  • Interpreting the client’s business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
  • Estimating the time required to complete the work and help provide quotes for clients
  • Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to clients or account managers
  • Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
  • Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
  • Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and wireframes
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media
  • Ability to work with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • OSX and Windows 7

Things that would be good to know:

  • Adobe Dreamweaver (or other IDE)
  • CSS
  • HTML
  • Adobe Fireworks
  • WordPress CMS
  • Joomla! CMS
